CHRISTINE POYTHRESS left the Deep South in 1970 and landed in California. For most of her life, she sang professionally: folk music, American Songbook standards, top forty, and country—love songs from "Your Cheatin' Heart" to Puccini arias. Her writing life began sporadically as inconsistent journaling embellished by scribbling poems in the margins of her art paper. Since 2014, she has given her full attention to writing and has written poetry, essays, and a memoir which is still in need of an agent. Her work has appeared in Quillkeepers Press, Tangled Locks Journal, and Synchronized Chaos.
